LORD KRISHNA SPEAKS- ABOUT THE SOUL
Thus spoke Krishna to Arjun:
Ever-existing is primeval soul:
Birth and Death do not to it apply.
Eternal and rotating is its role:
Though slain the bodies, the soul does not die.
Thus spoke Krishna to Arjuna:
As people put on garbs or garments new,
All the old and worn-out clothes discarding,
Much in a similar way, the soul too
Wears new bodies, withered ones discharging.
Thus spoke Krishna to Arjuna:
The soul pervades and fills the body whole.
Perennial it is and imperishable:
Breathing beings perish, not the soul
The soul remains indestructible.
Thus spoke Krishna to Arjuna:
The soul cannot be dried, cannot be burned.
It is insoluble and unbreakable.
The Soul cannot be moved, cannot be turned,
It’s immutable, unchangeable.
Thus spoke Krishna to Arjuna:
The Soul can’t be seen; it’s invisible-
But it’s present always, everywhere.
Although the soul is inconceivable,
Of its presence you should be ware.
Thus spoke Krishna to Arjuna:
Thus like the smoke covering the fire,
Or like mirrors being blurred by dust,
‘senses’ wrap the soul:
so from their mire,
Try to keep it free, you should and must.
